Jaguars vs. Broncos Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Sunday's NFL game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Jaguars vs. Broncos football game
The Jacksonville Jaguars are home on Sunday, but with the point spread against them by 6 points, it might not be quite the welcoming they would prefer. They will square off against the Denver Broncos at 1 p.m. ET at TIAA Bank Field. Coming off of a loss in a game they were expected to win, Jacksonville now face the more daunting task of proving themselves against unfavorable odds.
The Jaguars might not have won anyway, but with 82 yards lost due to penalties, they really shot themselves in the foot last week. They took a hard 37-21 fall against the Houston Texans. Jacksonville was down 34-14 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. No one had a standout game offensively for Jacksonville, but they got scores from WR Marvin Jones, TE Chris Manhertz, and WR D.J. Chark. QB Trevor Lawrence ended up with a passer rating of 117.20.
Meanwhile, Denver beat the New York Giants 27-13 last week. Denver's RB Melvin Gordon was one of the most active players for the squad, rushing for one TD and 101 yards on 11 carries. That touchdown -- a 70-yard rush in the fourth quarter -- was one of the highlights of the contest.
Denver's victory lifted them to 1-0 while Jacksonville's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll see if Denver can repeat their recent success or if the Jaguars bounce back and reverse their fortune.
