Giants vs. Rams score: Cooper Kupp's late score lifts L.A. as Daniel Jones' comeback attempt falls short

Oh. Oh no. After single-handedly driving the Giants down the field and threatening to make a last-minute comeback, Daniel Jones telegraphs a throw near the end zone and is picked off. That, friends, is going to seal it. Rams hang on in a surprise nail-biter.

Hold the phone. Rams once again want to make this a game. We've hit the two-minute warning, and the Giants are suddenly back in Rams territory after a quick strike from Daniel Jones to Darius Slayton. A score and a two-point conversion would tie this thing.

That'll do it. Giants come up short on the fourth-down try, and in the end, it was too little, too late from a banged-up offense. Very little time for Daniel Jones to operate on that last drive. Rams didn't exactly have a great day, but they took care of business out of the gate, then finally took advantage of New York's secondary. They'll improve to 3-1, while sending the Giants to 0-4.

And there it is. Predictable, to a tee. The Giants hold the Rams under wraps pretty much all game, but they can't capitalize in the red zone on their own. And then, finally, L.A. breaks one loose on the New York "D," with Cooper Kupp outracing the entire secondary on a catch-and-run score to break this thing wide open. Rams now up 17-9 with just under seven minutes to go. Daniel Jones has played fairly well considering the circumstances, but he's going to need to pull a rabbit out of his hat to save the G-Men now.

More so than Jared Goff, Daniel Jones is playing like he wants to win something today. The issue is, the Giants continue to stall when it matters most (i.e. the red zone). That now makes three times they've had to settle for field goals. You simply aren't going to win games, let alone against teams like the Rams, with that kind of inability to close drives. Now, are the Rams threatening right now? Not necessarily. They're out of sync. But they have the talent to break one loose. (Especially against this Giants secondary.) How much longer can New York hold tight and keep this within a point?
