Giants vs. Falcons: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Sunday's NFL game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Giants vs. Falcons football game
The Atlanta Falcons are on the road again Sunday and play against the New York Giants at 1 p.m. ET Sept. 26 at MetLife Stadium. The point spread is more or less neutral, so fans should expect a close matchup.
A victory for Atlanta just wasn't in the stars last week as the team never even grasped a temporary lead. Their painful 48-25 defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers might stick with them for a while. The Falcons were surely aware of their 12.5-point disadvantage in the point spread, but the foreknowledge did nothing to prevent the result. One thing holding Atlanta back was the mediocre play of QB Matt Ryan, who did not have his best game: despite two touchdowns, he threw three interceptions. Ryan ended up with a passer rating of 132.20.
There was early excitement for New York after they claimed the game's first points last Thursday, but it was the Washington Football Team who ended up claiming the real prize. New York had victory within their grasp but couldn't quite capture it as the squad lost 30-29 to Washington. Despite the loss, the Giants got a solid performance out of QB Daniel Jones, who passed for one TD and 249 yards on 32 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 95 yards. Jones ended up with a passer rating of 144.40.
Special teams collected 17 points for New York. K Graham Gano delivered a perfect 5-for-5 game.
With the two teams each stumbling in off of a defeat, both will be hungry for the win. Check back to see which squad is able to work their way into the win column.
