Commanders vs. 49ers Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Sunday's NFL game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Commanders vs. 49ers football game
3rd Quarter Report
The 49ers already have more points against the Commanders than they managed in total against the Ravens last Monday. The 49ers have jumped out to a 20-10 lead against the Commanders.
If the 49ers keep playing like this, they'll bump their record up to 12-4 in no time. On the other hand, the Commanders will have to make due with a 4-12 record unless they turn things around (and fast).
Preview
The Commanders will be in front of their home fans on Sunday, but a look at the spread shows they might need that home-field advantage. They will take on the San Francisco 49ers at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday. The Commanders are limping into the game on a six-game losing streak.
Last Sunday, it was a hard-fought game, but the Commanders had to settle for a 30-28 loss against the Jets. Washington has not had much luck with New York recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
The Commanders' defeat came about despite a quality game from Chris Rodriguez Jr., who rushed for 58 yards and two touchdowns. Those two rushing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for him.
Meanwhile, San Francisco unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Monday. The match between the 49ers and the Ravens wasn't particularly close, with the 49ers falling 33-19. San Francisco didn't live up to their potential and found themselves falling short of the advantage oddsmakers thought they had coming into the game.
The losing side was boosted by Christian McCaffrey, who rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. He is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Brandon Aiyuk also helped out as he racked up 113 receiving yards.
Washington's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-11. San Francisco's record is now 11-4.
Things could have been worse for Washington, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 37-20 loss to San Francisco in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Will the Commanders have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check CBS Sports after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other NFL content.
