Colts vs. Texans updates: Live NFL game scores, results for Sunday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Colts vs. Texans football game
After three games on the road, the Indianapolis Colts are heading back home. Indianapolis and the Houston Texans will face off in an AFC South battle at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Colts won both of their matches against Houston last season (26-20 and 27-20) and are aiming for the same result this time around.
Indianapolis fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Baltimore Ravens this past Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result, falling 31-25. Indianapolis was up 22-9 at the end of the third quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead. Indianapolis' loss came about despite a quality game from RB Jonathan Taylor, who punched in one rushing touchdown in addition to catching three passes for one TD and 116 yards. That receiving effort made it the first game that Taylor has posted more than 100 yards receiving.
Meanwhile, Houston scored first but ultimately less than the New England Patriots in their matchup last week. It was a hard-fought contest, but the Texans had to settle for a 25-22 defeat against New England. A silver lining for Houston was the play of QB Davis Mills, who passed for three TDs and 312 yards on 29 attempts. Mills hadn't helped his team much against the Buffalo Bills two weeks ago, so this was a nice turnaround for him.
Indianapolis is the favorite in this one, with an expected 10-point margin of victory. They are currently two-for-two against the spread in their most recent games, a trend bettors might want to take into account.
The losses bumped both teams down to an identical 1-4. Two stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Indianapolis comes into the contest boasting the fewest thrown interceptions in the NFL at two. As for Houston, they rank first in the league when it comes to forced fumbles, having caused eight on the season.
