Browns vs. Jets updates: Live NFL game scores, results for Sunday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Browns vs. Jets football game
The Cleveland Browns will look to defend their home turf on Sunday against the New York Jets at 1 p.m. ET. The Browns are the favorite in this one, with an expected 6.5-point margin of victory.
Cleveland squeaked by the Carolina Panthers by less than a field goal, winning 26-24. The team ran away with 17 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those in the second to pick up the win. Cleveland's success was spearheaded by the efforts of RB Nick Chubb, who picked up 141 yards on the ground on 22 carries, and RB Kareem Hunt, who punched in one rushing touchdown in addition to snatching one receiving TD.
Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, which contributed 14. K Cade York booted in four field goals, the longest a 58-yarder in the fourth quarter, which ultimately accounted for the difference in the matchup.
Meanwhile, the game between New York and the Baltimore Ravens last week was not a total blowout, but with New York falling 24-9 at home, it was darn close to turning into one. New York was down 24-3 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. No one had a standout game offensively for the Jets, but they got one touchdown from QB Joe Flacco.
Cleveland's victory lifted them to 1-0 while New York's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll see if the Browns can repeat their recent success or if New York bounces back and reverse their fortune.
