Broncos vs. Lions: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Sunday's NFL game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Broncos vs. Lions football game
Game Recap
After a disappointing 9 points in their last matchup, the Denver Broncos made sure to put some points up on the board against the Detroit Lions on Sunday. The Broncos made easy work of Detroit and carried off a 38-10 win. This was the most points they've scored all season.
Denver's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 17 points in the first half. Detroit countered with 10 points. Denver put the contest away in the third quarter with 14 points from the offense and zero points allowed from the defense.
RB Melvin Gordon was the offensive standout of the game for Denver, rushing for two TDs and 111 yards on 24 carries. That's the most rushing touchdowns Gordon has had all year. QB Teddy Bridgewater didn't exactly stuff the stat sheet, but finished with two touchdowns.
No one had a standout game offensively for the Lions, but they got one touchdown from QB Jared Goff.
The victory bumped the Broncos' record up to 7-6. Detroit, 1-11-1, has officially been eliminated from playoff contention.
Denver will play host again and welcome the Cincinnati Bengals to Empower Field at Mile High, where kick-off is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. ET next Sunday. Cincinnati took a loss in their last matchup and are no doubt out to reverse Denver's good fortune. Detroit will be playing at home against the Arizona Cardinals at 1 p.m. ET next Sunday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so their meeting could be a low-scoring affair.
