Broncos vs. Giants score: Bo Nix leads 33-point fourth quarter to help Denver claim epic comeback victory
Jaxson Dart started strong, but the G-Men couldn't hold on
The New York Giants led the Denver Broncos, 19-0, going into the fourth quarter of Sunday's Week 7 NFL matchup. That wasn't enough of a cushion for Jaxson Dart's dynamic rookie season to include an upset in Mile High. For it was Bo Nix who played fourth-quarter hero once again, leading five straight scoring drives to close the game and set up a 33-32 walk-off Broncos victory.
The NFL had seen 1,602 consecutive games won by teams leading by at least 18 points with fewer than six minutes to play ... until Sunday, when the Giants surrendered their massive lead to the Broncos.
Dart was on fire for the start of Sunday's contest, tossing three touchdowns to follow up an impressive Week 6 showing in which he helped the Giants upset the rival Philadelphia Eagles. His efforts to extend plays came back to bite him with about five minutes to play, however, as he threw an interception right to Denver's Justin Strnad. That turnover enabled the Broncos to score just four plays later, and Nix finally put his team ahead with an 18-yard rushing touchdown after the two-minute warning.
Dart then responded with a 65-yard scoring drive of his own in the final two minutes, seemingly putting the G-Men ahead for good with a short touchdown run that put them ahead 32-30. But Nix hit Marvin Mims Jr. for a 29-yard strike right at the start of Denver's ensuing -- and final -- possession, quickly putting Wil Lutz in position for a walk-off 33-yard field goal as time expired.
Lutz's game-winning kick served as a stark contrast to the Giants' special teams, as Jude McAtamney, the club's emergency replacement for injured kicker Graham Gano, missed two extra points during Sunday's defeat.
The Broncos' wild comeback, which included 33 points scored in the fourth quarter, improved Denver's season record to 5-2 and kept Sean Payton's squad perfect (3-0) at home during the 2025 campaign. Brian Daboll's Giants, meanwhile, fell to 2-5 with an 0-4 road record thanks to the squandered lead.
Jaxson Dart's stellar day gets interrupted by late-game INT
This time, the rookie quarterback tries to extend a play by tossing the ball after stepping up in a crowded pocket and throws it right into the arms of Justin Strnad. Huge takeaway by the Denver defense. But is it too little too late?
Giants answer right back on a deflection
Theo Johnson takes a ricochet off the pads of Wan'Dale Robinson to the house, a 41-yard touchdown to give New York a 26-8 lead with just over 10 minutes left in Denver. It was Jaxson Dart's third touchdown pass of the day against one of the best defenses in the NFL.
