Bengals vs. Colts: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Sunday's NFL game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Bengals vs. Colts football game
The Indianapolis Colts will head out on the road to face off against the Cincinnati Bengals at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday at Paycor Stadium. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Indianapolis had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Sunday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Titans and snuck past 31-28. Kudos to the oddsmakers for accurately forecasting both the winner and the close margin.
The Colts' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gardner Minshew II, who threw for 312 yards and two touchdowns. Alec Pierce also helped out with an impressive 100 receiving yards.
The Colts were down by two with only four minutes and 19 seconds left when they drove 75 yards for the winning score. Minshew II hit Michael Pittman Jr. from four yards out and that was all she wrote.
Another reason for the win was the Colts' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Samson Ebukam and Kwity Paye who racked up four sacks between them. Another big playmaker for the Colts was Grant Stuard, who managed to return a punt 18-yards to the end zone in the third quarter.
Meanwhile, Cincinnati must've know the odds they were up against on Monday, but they decided it wasn't going to be the story of the game. They skirted past the Jaguars 34-31. The win was a breath of fresh air for Cincinnati as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
The Bengals got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jake Browning out in front who threw for 354 yards and a touchdown while completing 86.5% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Joe Mixon, who gained 117 total yards and two touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Indianapolis to 7-5 and Tennessee to 4-8.
