Game Recap
It was all tied up 14-14 at halftime, but the Minnesota Vikings were not quite the San Francisco 49ers' equal in the second half when they met on Sunday. Minnesota took a 34-26 hit to the loss column. If they were hoping to take revenge for the 27-10 loss against the 49ers when the teams met last January, then they were left disappointed.
San Francisco relied on the efforts of RB Elijah Mitchell, who rushed for one TD and 133 yards on 27 carries, and WR Deebo Samuel, who punched in two rushing touchdowns. That's the most rushing touchdowns Samuel has had all year.
A silver lining for Minnesota was the play of WR Adam Thielen, who snatched two receiving TDs.
The matchup brought San Francisco to 6-5 and dropped Minnesota to a mirror-image 5-6.
The Vikings will hit the road for the second straight week as they head to Ford Field at 1 p.m. ET next Sunday. The Detroit Lions also suffered a recent defeat, falling 16-14 to the Chicago Bears on Thursday. As for the 49ers, they will face off against the Seattle Seahawks at 4:25 p.m. ET next Sunday at Lumen Field.
