Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Goes for 20 points Saturday
Johnson notched 20 points (7-11 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 6-6 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and two steals across 24 minutes in Saturday's 122-116 preseason win over the Grizzlies.
Six Atlanta players, including four starters, scored in double digits in this win, but Johnson led the way with an impressive performance. The star forward is expected to play a huge role for the Hawks on offense, and this performance signals that he's trending in the right direction toward being ready for the start of the regular season on Oct. 22 against the Raptors.

Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Notches 11 points in loss
Johnson logged 11 points (5-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 0-1 FT), two rebounds, two steals and two blocks across 17 minutes of Monday's 122-113 preseason loss to Houston.
Johnson was diagnosed with a torn labrum in his left shoulder back on Jan. 29 and went on to miss the rest of the 2024-25 regular season, and this was his first taste of live action since then. He's been a full go at training camp and has no restrictions to speak of, and he seemed to pick up right where he left off. Along with Trae Young, the Hawks are expected to run a ton of offense through Johnson this season.

Hawks' Jalen Johnson: Fully healthy for camp
Hawks general manager Onsi Saleh said Friday that Johnson (shoulder) is fully healthy and will be ready for training camp, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
Johnson was diagnosed with a torn labrum in his left shoulder back on Jan. 29 and went on to miss the rest of the 2024-25 regular season. Before the injury, he was in the midst of a breakout with averages of 18.9 points, 10.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.6 steals, 1.2 three-pointers and 1.0 blocks in 35.7 minutes per game. Even with the addition of Kristaps Porzingis, Johnson and Trae Young are expected to be the primary offensive weapons for the Hawks in 2025-26.
