Magic's Jalen Suggs: Absent from injury report
Suggs (rest) is off the injury report for Saturday's game against the Wizards, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Suggs had gotten the night off Thursday against Charlotte, given that it was the second night of a back-to-back set. The 2021 first-rounder has yet to reach the 25-minute barrier after missing the preseason while recovering from knee surgery. Suggs has averaged 11.3 points, 4.3 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.0 steals per contest across four games this season, and his return will force Anthony Black to the second unit in all likelihood.

Magic's Jalen Suggs: Won't play Thursday
Suggs (rest) won't play Thursday against Charlotte.
Suggs played 21 minutes Wednesday against the Pistons with eight points, five assists, two rebounds, one block and two steals. He'll be held out for injury maintenance Thursday for the second leg of this back-to-back set, as the Magic continue to take a cautious approach. With Suggs out, Anthony Black and Tyus Jones could see more reps in the backcourt Thursday.

Magic's Jalen Suggs: Off injury report for Monday
Suggs (knee) is not listed on the injury report ahead of Monday's game against the 76ers.
Suggs was held out Saturday as a precaution, but that won't lead to a multi-game absence since he carries no injury designation ahead of Monday's contest. The young guard has played fewer than 20 minutes in each of his first two outings this season, so a (strategically) limited workload should still be expected.

Magic's Jalen Suggs: Won't play vs. Chicago
Suggs (knee) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Bulls.
Suggs will miss the matchup against Chicago, with the team taking a cautious approach with its star guard. Orlando will likely lean on Tyus Jones, Anthony Black and Jase Richardson to help shoulder the load in the backcourt.

Magic's Jalen Suggs: Not expected to play Saturday
Suggs will likely miss Saturday's game against the Bulls, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Head coach Jamahl Mosley and his coaching staff are taking the cautious approach with Suggs to start the 2025-26 campaign. The defensive-minded guard likely won't play in the second game of a back-to-back set after playing against the Hawks on Friday.

Magic's Jalen Suggs: Starting Wednesday
Suggs is in the starting lineup for Wednesday's season opener against Miami, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Suggs underwent knee surgery back in March, which caused him to miss the preseason. However, he'll be out there for Opening Night alongside Desmond Bane, Franz Wagner, Paolo Banchero and Wendell Carter. He could have some minutes restrictions in his first game back, so he's a risky target in daily fantasy leagues.

Magic's Jalen Suggs: Available for Opening Night
Suggs (knee) is available for Opening Night against the Heat on Wednesday, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
This is a huge boost for the Magic after Suggs missed the entire preseason with this knee issue. He made it through shootaround with no setbacks, and it will be interesting to see how he fares after such a lengthy rehab. Given the circumstances, Suggs is likely to have some restrictions early on this season.

Magic's Jalen Suggs: Iffy for Opening Night
Suggs (knee) is questionable for Opening Night against the Heat on Wednesday, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Magic coach Jamahl Mosley said Suggs has been able to do 5-on-5 full-contact drills in practice, and Orlando will see how he responds before deciding on his availability. "Today was a good day," Mosley said. "Yesterday was a good day. He's responding well." If Suggs doesn't get the green light to suit up, the Magic will likely rely on Tyus Jones and Anthony Black to pick up the slack.

Magic's Jalen Suggs: Confirmed out for Thursday
Suggs (knee) won't play in Thursday's preseason game against the Pelicans, Cody Taylor of USA Today reports.
Suggs responded well to his contact work earlier this week and did some 5-on-0 activity at Thursday's practice, but the Magic will continue to ramp him up slowly. While Suggs hasn't been ruled out for Opening Night on Oct. 22, it's looking increasingly likely that he misses a bit of time to open the campaign.

Magic's Jalen Suggs: Trending in right direction
Magic coach Jamahl Mosley said Suggs was "able to do a little bit of contact" during Tuesday's practice, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
This practice included some three-on-three work, which is a positive step in the right direction. As for Suggs' status for Thursday's preseason finale and Opening Night on Oct. 22, Mosley said the team will monitor how his knee responds to the increased workload.

Magic's Jalen Suggs: Confirmed out for Friday
Suggs (knee) won't play in Friday's preseason game against the 76ers, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
No surprise here, as Suggs has yet to be cleared for full contact. The guard went through a non-contact workout Wednesday, but it remains to be seen if he'll be able to participate in any preseason action.

Magic's Jalen Suggs: Continues non-contact work
Suggs (knee) still hasn't been cleared for contact, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Suggs went through a non-contact workout Wednesday, but that doesn't indicate he's taken a significant step forward in his recovery from the left knee surgery he had in March. The Magic are hopeful that the 2021 first-rounder will be ready to roll for Opening Night, though his status very much remains up in the air. It's possible Suggs won't see any preseason action this fall, and Tyus Jones would likely fill the void at point guard if Suggs can't go for the start of the regular season.

Magic's Jalen Suggs: Confirmed out for Saturday
Suggs (knee) will not play in Saturday's preseason game against Miami, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
No surprise here, as Suggs has said he's targeting a return on Opening Night on Oct. 22. At this point, it would be a surprise to see him suit up at all in the preseason, as he's been limited to non-contact work at practice.

Magic's Jalen Suggs: Goes through non-contact drills
Suggs (knee) participated in non-contact drills during Tuesday's practice, Cody Taylor of USA Today reports.
Suggs is recovering from surgery on his left knee that he underwent on March 4. He's currently targeting the team's regular-season opener on Oct. 22 against the Heat to get back on the floor. He appears to be making progress toward accomplishing that goal. The Gonzaga product appeared in 35 regular-season games during the 2024-25 campaign, averaging 16.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals per game, while shooting 41 percent from the field and 31.4 percent from three-point range.

Magic's Jalen Suggs: Targeting return for opening night
Magic president of basketball operations Jeff Weltman said Monday that Suggs (knee) is aiming to return for the start of the regular season, Philip Rossman-Reich of OrlandoMagicDaily.com reports.
Suggs underwent season-ending surgery on his left knee in March and has been rehabbing with the goal of returning healthy for the 2025-26 season. Weltman said the guard's participation in training camp will be monitored closely by the medical staff, with hopes he can see some preseason action, but the priority is to have him ready for the start of the regular season. Suggs played 35 regular-season games last year, averaging 16.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals while shooting 41 percent from the field and 31.4 percent from three.

Magic's Jalen Suggs: Status for training camp in doubt
Suggs (knee) might not be ready to return to the floor at the beginning of training camp, Brett James of Orlando Magic Daily reports.
Suggs played in only 35 regular-season games last season, as he was officially ruled out for the rest of the 2024-25 campaign March 4. It appears he still isn't ready to return, as he alluded to during Media Day. "Camp and the return will come in time, in [God's] time, but our process is really working and I love the spot that we're in right now," Suggs said. Over the course of those 35 games, the defensive-minded guard averaged 16.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals per game, shooting 41 percent from the floor and 31.4 percent from beyond the arc.
