Bucks' Cole Anthony: Won't return Monday
Anthony received stitches for a chin laceration Monday and he will not return, Tim Reynolds of Associated Press reports.
This shouldn't be anything that impacts Anthony's status for the regular-season opener, but there's a chance he'll need to skip Thursday's exhibition versus Detroit. If he does need to hit the sidelines, Gary Harris could pick up some extra run.

Bucks' Cole Anthony: Available Monday
Anthony (undisclosed) is available to play in Monday's preseason game against the Heat, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports.
Anthony sat out the contact portion of practice Thursday with an undisclosed issue but is expected to make his Bucks debut in Monday's preseason contest. The veteran guard joined Milwaukee after having his contract bought out by Memphis on July 12. Head coach Doc Rivers noted he plans to get all 20 players some run, so Anthony's workload remains to be seen.

Bucks' Cole Anthony: Dealing with undisclosed issue
Anthony (undisclosed) sat out the contact portion of Thursday's practice, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports.
Anthony was not dealing with any injuries at the start of training camp, and when coach Doc Rivers was asked what the guard was battling, he said he had "no idea." Rivers did describe Anthony's absence as a precautionary measure, but for now, he can be considered questionable for Monday's preseason game against Miami.

Cole Anthony: Agrees to buyout with Memphis
Anthony has agreed to a contract buyout with the Grizzlies on Saturday and intends to sign with the Bucks after clearing waivers, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Anthony was traded earlier this offseason in a deal that sent Desmond Bane to the Magic, but he'll move on before ever taking the court for the Grizzlies. The guard appeared in 67 regular-season games during the 2024-25 campaign, including 22 starts, and averaged 9.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.9 assists while shooting 42.4 percent from the field in 18.4 minutes per game. The 2020 first-round pick could help replace Damian Lillard (Achilles) with the Bucks, though that move won't become official until Anthony clears waivers.

Grizzlies' Cole Anthony: Traded to Memphis
The Magic traded Anthony, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, four unprotected first-round picks and one first-round pick swap to the Grizzlies on Sunday in exchange for Desmond Bane, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
After a breakout sophomore year, Anthony's statistics have decreased across the board in three consecutive campaigns, culminating in career lows in points (9.4), rebounds (3.0), assists (2.0) and minutes (18.4) during the 2024-25 season. He signed a two-year, $26 million extension with the Magic in October of 2023, which included a team option for 2026-27. There's an entire offseason to play out, but Anthony finds himself in a tough competition for backcourt minutes in Memphis with Caldwell-Pope, Scotty Pippen, Vince Williams, and potentially, Luke Kennard.

Magic's Cole Anthony: Limited impact in 19 minutes
Anthony chipped in three points (1-6 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, one assist and one block across 19 minutes during Tuesday's 120-89 loss to the Celtics in Game 5 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Orlando wasn't able to generate much offense from their backcourt trio of Anthony, Anthony Black and Cory Joseph -- all three combined for 11 points as Orlando was knocked out of the postseason. None of those players stepped up much in the absence of Jalen Suggs (knee), as they formed a timeshare at the point guard slot to limit the upside of each other. Anthony finished the regular season with 67 appearances and averages of 9.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.1 three-pointers on 42.4 percent shooting from the field.

Magic's Cole Anthony: Goes scoreless in Game 4
Anthony closed Sunday's 107-98 loss to the Celtics in Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs with no counting stats over two minutes.
Anthony failed to make an impact Sunday against the defending NBA champions, as he saw the floor for a team-low two minutes. Throughout the first four games of this first-round series with Boston, Anthony has racked up just eight points, four rebounds and five assists across 31 minutes.

Magic's Cole Anthony: Provides spark off bench
Anthony tallied 26 points (10-17 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six assists and three rebounds in 20 minutes during Tuesday's 120-95 Play-In Game win over the Hawks.
Anthony's efficient shooting helped him lead Orlando in scoring Tuesday despite coming off the bench. The 24-year-old guard actually played more than starting guard Cory Joseph, who logged just 18 minutes. Anthony will likely continue to be heavily featured off Orlando's bench during their first-round playoff matchup with the Celtics.

Magic's Cole Anthony: Limited in loss Sunday
Anthony totaled two points (1-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt), three assists and one steal over 13 minutes during Sunday's 117-105 loss to Atlanta.
Anthony played just 13 minutes, possibly due to the fact the coaching staff was limiting him in preparation for Tuesday's Play-In matchup against the Hawks. Although it's been an up-and-down season for Anthony, it is likely he will be called upon a little more if the Magic get into the postseason.

Magic's Cole Anthony: Red hot from deep off bench
Anthony finished with 18 points (6-13 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 1-1 FT), eight rebounds and three assists over 22 minutes in Wednesday's 96-76 win over Boston.
Anthony shined off the Magic bench in Wednesday's contest, connecting on a team-high mark from three while hauling in a team-high-tying rebound total and finishing second on the team in scoring. Anthony set a new season high in threes made while recording his 10th outing of the year with 18 or more points.

Magic's Cole Anthony: Solid outing in return
Anthony (toe) contributed nine points (3-8 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block across 19 minutes during Tuesday's 116-105 victory over San Antonio.
Anthony made his return to action following a seven-game absence due to a left big toe strain. The 24-year-old guard produced a solid stat line while coming off the bench, and he could eventually earn himself a promotion back to the top unit. Cory Joseph made an 11th straight start at point guard but saw his minutes fall under 20 as a result of Anthony's return.

Magic's Cole Anthony: Good to go Tuesday
Anthony (toe) is listed as available for Tuesday's game against the Spurs.
Anthony will return to the court following a seven-game absence due to a left big toe strain. The 24-year-old missed nine of the club's last 10 games in March and is slated to come off the bench during his return, with the club opting to keep Cory Joseph in the starting lineup.

Magic's Cole Anthony: Could return Tuesday
Anthony (toe) is listed questionable for Tuesday's game against the Spurs.
Anthony remained out for Monday's 96-87 loss to the Clippers due to a left toe strain, but he could be ready to make his return to the court in the second leg of a back-to-back set. He hasn't played since March 16 as a result of the injury, so if Anthony is cleared to suit up Tuesday, the Magic would likely look to keep his minutes in check.

Magic's Cole Anthony: Won't play Monday
Anthony (toe) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Clippers, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Anthony hasn't played since March 6, when he made a six-minute appearance following a two-game absence. His next chance to suit up will come Tuesday in San Antonio, and while he doesn't have a return timetable, the fact that he was initially listed as questionable for Monday's game is a step in the right direction.

Magic's Cole Anthony: Iffy for Monday vs. LAC
Anthony (toe) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Clippers.
Anthony is in jeopardy of missing his seventh consecutive contest due to a left big toe strain. However, the 24-year-old combo guard was listed as doubtful before being ruled out of Saturday's win over Sacramento, so the questionable tag bodes well for his progression toward a return to game action. If Anthony remains on the shelf Monday, Cory Joseph and Anthony Black will likely continue to receive an uptick in playing time.
