Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Regresses in reserve role
Jaquez provided six points (2-8 FG, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds and six assists over 34 minutes during Thursday's 107-101 loss to the Spurs.
Although Jaquez turned in decent secondary totals, he finished with his first single-digit scoring total of the season in the defeat. He regressed despite recording his highest minute total of the season, indicating that his floor might not be as high as originally thought. He's been a fantasy darling in winning DFS lineups this season, and a larger sample size is needed from the UCLA product before he's off the board completely.

Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Erupts for 28 bench points
Jaquez collected 28 points (9-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 8-8 FT), four rebounds, five assists and one steal across 28 minutes during Tuesday's 144-117 win over Charlotte.
Jaquez led the Heat in scoring despite beyond deployed off the bench, taking full advantage of his looks on the offensive end. He was also productive as a distributor and has dished out five or more assists in each of his past three games. Jaquez is off to a strong start to the 2025-26 campaign, averaging 18.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.3 steals in four appearances.

Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Another strong showing
Jaquez ended Sunday's 115-107 win over the Knicks with 17 points (8-12 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds and five assists in 27 minutes.
Jaquez, who was coming off a letdown of a 2024-25 campaign, certainly seems to have found his stride to open the new season. Through the first three games, he's second on the Heat in nine-category fantasy value with averages of 15.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.3 steals. He's shooting a red-hot 71.0 percent from the field, however, and that's obviously not sustainable.

Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Efficient in season opener
Jaquez amassed 13 points (6-7 FG, 0-1 3 Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, two steals and an assist over 30 minutes in Wednesday's 125-121 loss to Orlando.
Jaquez led all bench players in minutes and rebounds, and tied with Simone Fontecchio to pace the rest of the second unit in scoring. He also played seven more minutes than starter Nikola Jovic, indicating that despite not starting, Jaquez still has a vital role within the team moving forward.

Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Tallies team-high 17 points
Jaquez amassed 17 points (7-14 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, three assists and one block in 26 minutes during Monday's preseason loss to Atlanta.
Jaquez shifted back to the bench following a spot start in Sunday's game against the Magic. Despite the move, Jaquez delivered his best game of the preseason, an encouraging sign for a player who failed to live up to expectations during his sophomore season. With Tyler Herro (ankle) out to begin the season, Jaquez could very well find himself in a slightly increased role. He is not worth drafting in most standard leagues but is worth keeping an eye on, just in case he rediscovers some of the form from his rookie campaign.

Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Returns to bench
Jaquez won't start Monday's preseason game against the Hawks.
With Miami resting its regulars, Jaquez started Sunday against the Magic and posted nine points (3-7 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-4 FT) and two assists in 15 minutes. After a strong rookie campaign, Jaquez took a step back last season. He's looking to rebound in Year 3 and take advantage of Tyler Herro's (ankle) absence to start the regular season.

Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Joins first unit
Jaquez will start Sunday's preseason game against Orlando, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
The Heat are resting Bam Adebayo, Andrew Wiggins and Norman Powell, while Nikola Jovic (back) is out. Jaquez, who is coming off a letdown of a sophomore season, has looked sharp in the preseason thus far.

Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Productive off bench
Jaquez finished with 19 points (6-8 FG, 7-7 FT), three rebounds and one assist across 28 minutes of Wednesday's 112-107 preseason loss to the Spurs.
After starting the first two preseason games, Jaquez came off the bench Wednesday with the Heat giving Dru Smith a look in the starting lineup. Regardless of whether he starts or not, Jaquez has been a bright spot in the preseason, and it seems like coach Erik Spoelstra is going to rely on him quite a bit in the absence of Tyler Herro (ankle).

Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Coming off bench Wednesday
Jaquez will come off the bench for Wednesday's preseason game against the Spurs, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports.
Jaquez started each of Miami's first two preseason games, but he'll retreat to a reserve role Wednesday. Dru Smith replaces him in the first five. Still, expect Jaquez to hold a significant role off the bench.

Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Starts another preseason game
Jaquez finished with nine points (3-6 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, three assists and two turnovers across 23 minutes of Monday's 103-93 preseason loss to the Bucks.
Notably, Jaquez has started both preseason games for the Heat so far. With the team aiming to play at a faster pace, the Heat are leaning into smaller lineups so far, which benefits guys like Jaquez and Nikola Jovic. With Tyler Herro (ankle) sidelined to begin the season, Jaquez appears to be picking up steam as a candidate to start on Opening Night.

Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Starting in preseason game
Jaquez is in the starting lineup for Saturday's preseason game against the Magic, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Jaquez will accompany Bam Adebayo, Andrew Wiggins, Norman Powell and Nikola Jovic in the starting lineup for this preseason contest in Puerto Rico. Jaquez has been mostly a bench player in his first two years in the league, starting in only 37 of his 141 regular-season contests so far.

Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Team option picked up
Miami exercised its 2026-27 team option for Jaquez on Tuesday, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
No surprises here. Jaquez is coming off a letdown of a 2024-25 season, but Miami coach Erik Spoelstra has said many times that he's a believer in the wing's ability. With Tyler Herro (ankle) set to miss the beginning of the season, there is a larger path to minutes on the wings if Jaquez can take advantage of the opportunity.

Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Limited role in Game 4
Jaquez accumulated four points (1-5 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds and one assist across 13 minutes during Monday's 138-83 loss to Cleveland in Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Jaquez fell out of favor with coach Erik Spoelstra in the postseason, playing an average of 6.3 minutes across three appearances of this series. He regressed in the regular season following a standout rookie campaign as well, appearing in 66 games with 8.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.6 three-pointers on 46.1 percent shooting from the field.

Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Coming off bench for Play-In
Jaquez isn't part of the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Bulls, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Jaquez will return to his regular reserve role Wednesday after nabbing a spot start in the Heat's regular-season finale. In 66 games this season, Jaquez averaged 8.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists across 20.7 minutes.

Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Erupts for career-high 41
Jaquez recorded 41 points (17-25 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 5-7 FT), 10 rebounds and seven assists in 41 minutes during Sunday's 119-118 loss to Washington.
With Tyler Herro, Bam Adebayo and other key Heat players resting ahead of the Play-In Tournament, Jaquez stepped up with a career-best scoring effort in a losing cause. However, the second-year wing hadn't scored more than 14 points or attempted more than 10 field goals in a game since Jan. 9, so Sunday's massive volume isn't likely to be repeated in the postseason, even if he retains a significant role in Miami's rotation.

Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Starting Sunday
Jaquez is in the Heat's starting lineup against the Wizards on Sunday.
Jaquez has fluctuated in and out of Miami's rotation as of late, but he'll make his 17th start of the season in Sunday's regular-season finale. He has averaged 5.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists over 14.9 minutes per game since the beginning of March.
