Heat's Tyler Herro: Expected back in 8-to-12 weeks
Herro (foot/ankle) said Monday that he's ahead of schedule in his recovery and expects to be back in 8-to-12 weeks, Wes Goldberg of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
Herro underwent surgery Sept. 19 due to a left ankle/foot impingement that had reportedly been bothering him since the middle of the summer. He's trending in the right direction less than two weeks after surgery but will still require time to ramp up his strength and conditioning once cleared to resume basketball activities. Head coach Erik Spoelstra noted that the star guard is expected to return "sooner than later" and will likely aim to come back by mid-to-late November, according to Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald. The 25-year-old is fresh off his first All-Star nod in 2024-25, when he averaged 23.9 points, 5.5 assists, 5.2 rebounds and 3.3 three-pointers across 35.4 minutes per game in 77 regular-season appearances.

Heat's Tyler Herro: Expected to miss eight weeks
Herro (foot/ankle) is expected to take eight weeks to recover after undergoing successful surgery Friday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Herro is coming off the best season of his NBA career, averaging career-high numbers in points (23.9), assists (5.5) and steals (0.9) while also shooting a career-best 47.2 percent from the field. The Kentucky product's absence will likely result in more playing time for Davion Mitchell and Kasparas Jakucionis in the backcourt to begin the 2025-26 campaign. Miami newcomer Norman Powell will probably be leaned on to pick up the slack offensively with the team's most talented scorer sidelined potentially until mid-November.

Heat's Tyler Herro: Undergoes ankle surgery
Herro will undergo surgery on his left foot/ankle Friday, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports.
According to Chiang, this ankle/foot impingement has been bothering Herro since the middle of the summer. The guard received PRP and cortisone injections in recent weeks in the hopes of avoiding surgery, but the discomfort never subsided, and surgery was deemed necessary to avoid more issues down the road. Herro's return timetable is unknown, but he will be sidelined for the beginning of the season. With this news, the Heat will need to rely heavily on Davion Mitchell and Norman Powell in the backcourt.
