Embiid (injury recovery) will not play Sunday against the Nets.
Sunday's game is not part of a back-to-back set, but the 76ers will continue to err on the side of caution with their franchise center. The 76ers have a back-to-back set coming up Tuesday and Wednesday, and it's safe to assume Embiid will miss one of those as well. In Embiid's absence, the 76ers will likely rely on Adem Bona and Andre Drummond.

76ers' Joel Embiid: Scores 20 points with two blocks
Rotowire
Embiid produced 20 points (6-13 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 7-7 FT), six rebounds, three assists, two blocks and four turnovers in 25 minutes during Friday's 109-108 loss to the Celtics.
This was a season-high in minutes for Embiid, who has looked a little better with each game this season. He did take an elbow to the face from Derrick White, but he was able to play through it, so that shouldn't be something that impacts his status for Sunday's game in Brooklyn.

76ers' Joel Embiid: Plays 23 minutes in win
Rotowire
Embiid provided 25 points (9-17 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 4-6 FT), seven rebounds, five assists and one block across 23 minutes during Tuesday's 139-134 overtime victory over Washington.
Embiid logged 23 minutes in the win, an encouraging sign for anyone rostering him. His production also increased, scoring a season-high 25 points. Despite being clearly hampered by his ongoing knee concerns, Embiid once again proved that he can be a valuable contributor. It appears his lack of mobility and elevation could limit what he can do on the defensive end, meaning he is unlikely to push for first-round fantasy value at this point in his career.

76ers' Joel Embiid: Not on injury report
Rotowire
Embiid (knee) is available for Tuesday's game against the Wizards.
After sitting out the front end of the back-to-back set Monday against Orlando, Embiid is no longer showing up on the injury report. He fared well in his last outing against the Hornets with 20 points (7-11 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 3-5 FT), two rebounds, four assists and two steals over 20 minutes, so it will be interesting to see if he's given a few more minutes this time around.

76ers' Joel Embiid: Plays 20 minutes Saturday
Rotowire
Embiid finished Saturday's 125-121 victory over the Hornets with 20 points (7-11 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 3-5 FT), two rebounds, four assists and two steals over 20 minutes.
Following a four-point outing (1-9 FG, 0-4 3PM, 2-2 FT) in the season opener, Embiid bounced back with 20 points on an efficient 7-for-11 from the field. The 31-year-old has played 20 minutes in each of the Sixers' first two contests to start the year, and it's no surprise the team is taking a cautious approach with the star center. He's expected to suit up for Monday's home tilt against Orlando.

76ers' Joel Embiid: Limited to four points in opener
Rotowire
Embiid was held to four points (1-9 FG, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, two assists and one block in 20 minutes during Wednesday's 117-116 win over Boston.
Embiid looked very rusty, as he opened the game with four straight misses and bricked all four of his three-point attempts. Some rust is to be expected given that he wasn't able to suit up until the final game of the preseason, and he's expected to be eased back into things with some minutes restrictions.

Rotowire

76ers' Joel Embiid: Solid effort in preseason victory
Rotowire
Embiid registered 14 points (5-10 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, eight assists and three steals over 19 minutes during Friday's 126-110 preseason win over Minnesota.
Embiid was cleared to make his preseason debut Friday after finishing up rehab on his left knee. He didn't disappoint, as he managed to contribute across the board, falling just two assists shy of a double-double. Embiid nearly reached the 20-minute threshold in Philly's final matchup of the preseason, so while the team has yet to comment on whether he'll be limited to begin the regular season, it's a positive sign that he was able to go this long in his first taste of game action since Feb. 22.

76ers' Joel Embiid: Good to go Friday
Rotowire
Embiid (knee) will make his preseason debut Friday against the Timberwolves, according to NBA reporter Chris Haynes.
Embiid scrimmaged Sunday and drew a lot of positive reviews from coaches and players. He has continued to ramp up his rehab at recent practices, though he did get a planned maintenance day Thursday. Given the circumstances, it's likely that Embiid is eased back into action with a modest workload, but he's going to start and maybe play into the second half.

76ers' Joel Embiid: Gets in another practice
Rotowire
Embiid (knee) participated in "most" of Wednesday's practice, Kyle Neubeck of AllPHLY.com reports.
This isn't a substantial update by any means, as Embiid has been participating in several practices lately. Embiid was a full participant during Sunday's team scrimmage in front of fans, and it sounds like his knee continues to respond well to the increased workloads. On Tuesday, coach Nick Nurse didn't rule Embiid out for Friday's preseason finale against Minnesota, but even if he suits up, it's unlikely he'd play a major role during an exhibition.

76ers' Joel Embiid: Could play Friday
Rotowire
76ers coach Nick Nurse said Tuesday that Embiid (knee) has a chance to play in Friday's final preseason game against the Timberwolves, Ky Carlin of USA Today reports.
Nurse said there are still some thresholds Embiid needs to get past in order to get on the floor, but he's trending in the right direction. Embiid was a full participant at Sunday's scrimmage, and by most accounts, he had a really strong showing. It's looking increasingly likely that Embiid will be ready by Opening Night.

Rotowire
Embiid (knee) won't play in Friday's preseason game against the Magic, Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

His last chance for game action before the regular season begins will be Friday, Oct. 17, against the Timberwolves. It's also unclear when Paul George (knee), Jared McCain (thumb) and Quentin Grimes (personal) will be ready for game action, but VJ Edgecombe (hip) is considered day-to-day.

76ers' Joel Embiid: Not ready to set timetable
Rotowire
During Friday's Media Day, Embiid (knee) said he's not ready to put a timetable on his return, Chris Mannix of SI.com reports.
Embiid said he feels "pretty good" and that's "made a lot of progress," but he'll continue to take things day-by-day. Embiid underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in April, and while several reports indicated that he would be ready for training camp, it sounds like he's going to be limited to open the camp. As for his goal in 2025-26, Embiid said he wants to position himself to "play consistently." His health is going to be a hot topic for the next few weeks leading up to Opening Night.
