Mavericks' Anthony Davis: Out at least one week
Davis (calf) will be re-evaluated in 7-to-10 days, the Mavericks announced Sunday.
Davis will miss his ninth game in a row Sunday against Portland, and he will sit out at least four more games. The earliest possible return date is Nov. 24 against the Heat, though that seems a bit unlikely given how cautious the team is being. Davis is reportedly making good progress, but the Mavericks will have to carry on without their franchise big man. P.J. Washington, Naji Marshall and Max Christie should continue to handle increased usage until Davis is cleared to return.

Mavericks' Anthony Davis: Unlikely to return Sunday
Davis (calf) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Trail Blazers.
Davis appears poised to miss a ninth consecutive game due to a left calf strain that he sustained in a win over the Pacers on Oct. 29. Daniel Gafford and Naji Marshall will likely continue to see more minutes and bigger roles as long as Davis is sidelined.

Mavericks' Anthony Davis: Out Friday
Davis (calf) won't play Friday against the Clippers.
Friday will mark Davis' eighth consecutive game on the inactive list, and with Dallas' next two games coming as a Sunday-Monday, back-to-back set, it seems unlikely he'll be able to return by the end of Week 4. Naji Marshall, Dereck Lively and Daniel Gafford will pick up the slack in Davis' absence.

Mavericks' Anthony Davis: Listed as questionable
Davis (calf) is listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Clippers, Christian Clark of The Athletic reports.
Davis has missed the past seven games for Dallas, but this will be his fourth straight questionable tag. Mavericks governor Patrick Dumont requested medical data to indicate that Davis is not at risk of aggravating his left calf strain before the veteran big man receives clearance to play, but there's been no noteworthy update since. Davis' status moving forward is very much in the air.

Mavericks' Anthony Davis: Out Wednesday, could miss more time
Davis (calf) has been ruled out for Wednesday against the Suns, Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com reports.
Davis will be sidelined for a seventh consecutive contest Wednesday, and despite being listed as questionable on the Mavericks' initial injury report for three straight games, his return to action may not necessarily be imminent. According to MacMahon, Mavericks governor Patrick Dumont has requested medical data indicating that Davis is not at risk of aggravating his left calf strain before the veteran big man receives clearance to play. As MacMahon notes, Davis had initially been targeting a return to action in this past Saturday's game versus the Wizards, but after Dumont sided with Mavericks director of health and performance Johann Bilsborough -- who advised that Davis should continue to sit out -- the decision was made to keep the 32-year-old sidelined. With the Mavericks sitting at 3-8 entering Wednesday's game and having fired general manager Nico Harrison earlier this week, it's possible that the team takes a more conservative approach with injured veterans such as Davis and Kyrie Irving (knee) while a deep playoff run looks to be a pipe dream even at this early stage of the season.

Mavericks' Anthony Davis: Questionable vs. Suns
Davis (calf) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Suns.
Davis is looking to bring a six-game absence due to a calf strain to an end against Phoenix. The Mavericks are likely to determine his status following pregame warmups Wednesday. If Davis remains out yet again, Dallas would likely need Naji Marshall and P.J. Washington to handle the lion's share of the minutes at power forward.

Mavericks' Anthony Davis: Downgraded to out
Davis (calf) won't play in Friday's game against Memphis.
No surprise here, as the Mavericks initially considered Davis doubtful for Friday. The superstar big man appears to be inching closer to returning, with his next chance to do so coming Saturday in Washington. Daniel Gafford and P.J. Washington should handle the lion's share of the frontcourt minutes until Davis can make his way back onto the floor.

Davis is considered day-to-day with a low-grade calf strain, but he's not likely to suit up Friday. With the superstar big man in line for a fourth consecutive absence, P.J. Washington and Daniel Gafford should both play an expanded role.
