Drew said if Smith is out, both Marvin Williams and Tracy McGrady will fill in at power forward, which should go great. If by great, you mean "they will get eaten alive by Kevin Garnett and Brandon Bass."
The Hawks are already missing Al Horford, who's unlikely to be back this round if at all, and Zaza Pachulia who's day-to-day with a foot injury and has missed the first two games. Losing Smith would render the Hawks' frontcourt eviscerated.
