Two Western Conference foes face off in an early-season battle when the Warriors host the Suns. Both teams are hovering right around .500 with Golden State 4-3 and Phoenix 3-4. The Suns had an eventful offseason by trading Kevin Durant to Houston, and it's unclear how much of a factor they'll be in the West after a disappointing 2024-25 campaign. Golden State is again led by Stephen Curry, who leads the team with 26.6 points per game as one of the league's top scorers in the early going of this season. From the hardwood to the ice, we have a potential Stanley Cup Final preview in Colorado as the Avalanche host the Lightning. These have been two of the NHL's best and most consistent franchises in recent years, and they've each hoisted the Cup of late with Tampa winning it all in 2020 and 2021 and Colorado in 2022. The Avs own the top record in the Western Conference at 7-1-5, while the Lightning are 6-4-2, good for fourth in the Atlantic Division. Nathan MacKinnon is once again dominating for Colorado, entering Tuesday tied for first in the NHL in goals (10) and second in the league in points (19).
