  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Shines in win against Dodgers

Gordon (4-5) tossed six innings against the Dodgers on Wednesday, allowing one run on four hits and one walk while striking out three batters to earn the victory. Gordon kept Los Angeles off the scoreboard until Teoscar Hernandez tagged him for a solo homer in the sixth inning. Overall, Gordon threw 60 of 92 pitches for strikes and got a first-pitch strike on 17 of the 24 batters he faced. This was quite a turnaround for the right-hander, especially considering the competition -- over his previous four starts, he had registered a horrid 15.26 ERA across 15.1 innings. Gordon seems like a good bet to make his next turn in the rotation after the strong outing and with Austin Gomber placed on outright waivers Wednesday. If that's the case, Gordon's next start is lined up to come in Houston next week.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Decent in third win

Gordon (3-5) notched the win Friday against Arizona, allowing three runs on five hits and one walk in five innings. He struck out two. Gordon entered the day having been dismantled for 23 earned runs over his prior three starts, so Friday's display was a step in the right direction. The right-hander attacked the zone for 54 strikes among his 78 pitches, although he's still reached the 90-pitch marker just once out of eight outings on the year. Gordon has a hideous 7.98 ERA, 1.80 WHIP and 24:9 K:BB over 38.1 frames, and he should likely be avoided at home next week against the division-rival Dodgers in most situations from a fantasy perspective.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Lit up again Sunday

Gordon (2-5) allowed 10 runs on 12 hits and struck out six without walking a batter over 4.2 innings to take the loss versus the Diamondbacks on Sunday. Gordon gave up just one home run -- a three-run shot to Adrian Del Castillo in the first inning -- but the Colorado right-hander couldn't generate much weak contact. He threw 61 of 77 pitches for strikes, but Arizona pieced together a huge rally in the fifth inning that ultimately knocked him from the game. Gordon has been awful in the majors this year with an 8.37 ERA, 1.89 WHIP and 22:8 K:BB through 33.1 innings over seven starts. With Chase Dollander reportedly being called up to pitch Monday versus the Cardinals, per Thomas Harding of MLB.com, it's possible Gordon could be the corresponding move given his recent struggles, though the Rockies have plenty of candidates to be jettisoned to Triple-A Albuquerque.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Rocked by Blue Jays

Gordon (2-4) allowed seven runs on 11 hits and no walks while striking out one batter over 2.2 innings to take the loss against Toronto on Monday. Gordon struggled from the outset, giving up a run on three hits in the first inning. That frame was just the beginning of a rough outing for the right-hander; he gave up another run in the second and then had the bottom fall out in the third, when Toronto tagged him for six hits (three of which went for extra bases) while putting five more runs on his ledger. Gordon unsurprisingly didn't survive that inning, as he was pulled with two outs after 67 pitches. Gordon posted a respectable 3.13 ERA through his first four MLB appearances this season, but that number has ballooned to 6.59 following back-to back ugly starts during which he's surrendered a combined 14 runs (13 earned) across just 5.2 frames.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Hit hard in loss

Gordon (2-3) took the loss Tuesday against the Guardians, allowing seven runs (six earned) on eight hits and two walks while striking out two in three innings. Gordon was hit around in this one and had a disappointing outing after he was impressive in a scoreless showing against the Cardinals last week. Gordon allowed three runs through two innings and coughed up another four runs in the third, including a Kyle Manzardo two-run homer and Brayan Rocchio two-run triple. Despite the rough showing, Gordon figures to stick around in the rotation for the short term while German Marquez (biceps) is recovering. Gordon lines up to start at home versus the Blue Jays to begin next week.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Receiving another start

Gordon is scheduled to start Tuesday's game against the Guardians at Progressive Field. The right-hander will be rewarded with a second turn through the rotation after he came through with a quality start last Wednesday, when he was called up from Triple-A Albuquerque. He kept the Cardinals off the board over six innings, earning his second career win while striking out three and scattering four hits and three walks. Gordon will get a favorable draw Tuesday, taking on a Guardians offense that has produced a collective 92 wRC+ (24th in MLB) since the beginning of July.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Blanks Cards in return

Gordon (2-2) earned the win Wednesday over the Cardinals, allowing four hits and three walks over six scoreless innings. He struck out three. Gordon was excellent in his first major-league start since May 28, scattering six hits to earn his second win in a 6-0 shutout. The 27-year-old Gordon has pitched to a 3.13 ERA with a 1.30 WHIP and 13:6 K:BB across his first four starts (23 innings) this season. The right-hander figures to remain in Colorado's rotation moving forward after German Marquez (biceps) landed on the IL. Gordon is currently lined up to face the Guardians on the road in his next outing.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Activated, optioned to Triple-A

The Rockies activated Gordon (oblique) from the 15-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports. Gordon is over his oblique strain, but the Rockies have elected to keep him at Albuquerque where he had been on his rehab assignment rather than adding him back to the major-league roster. The righty will be part of Albuquerque's rotation.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Set for rehab assignment

Gordon (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Albuquerque, MLB.com reports. Gordon will make a pair of rehab starts, with the first coming Tuesday and second Sunday. There's no official word if he'll be activated immediately after the latter outing, or if he'll have a spot in the big-league rotation upon his return.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Resumes light throwing

Gordon (oblique) played catch on the field prior to Tuesday's game against the Giants, MLB.com reports. Gordon has been sidelined since June 3 with an oblique strain, and Tuesday's throwing session was his first since he was placed on the injured list. There is no timeline for his return.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Gives up two runs in defeat

Gordon (1-2) took the loss against the Cubs on Wednesday, allowing two runs on six hits and no walks while striking out one batter over 4.2 innings. Gordon fell behind quickly by allowing a run in the first inning, but Chicago was able to put just one additional run on the board (on a Pete Crow-Armstrong solo homer in the fourth frame). While Gordon notched just six whiffs and a single strikeout, he was effective in getting the ball over the plate, throwing a first-pitch strike to 14 of the 19 batters he faced and firing 56 strikes overall on 79 pitches. The right-hander gave up four earned runs over 6.1 frames against Detroit in his season debut May 8, but he's been steadier since then, allowing just four runs over 10.2 innings across his subsequent two starts against a pair of powerhouse offenses in the Yankees and Cubs. Ryan Feltner (back) is nearing a return from the IL, which could impact Gordon's spot in the rotation, but for the time being the latter is lined up for a road matchup against Miami next week.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Steady in first big-league win

Gordon (1-1) allowed two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five over six innings to earn the win over the Yankees on Friday. Gordon kept a dangerous offense in check, though he was tagged for a couple of hard hits on scoring plays. Paul Goldschmidt supplied an RBI triple in the first inning and Aaron Judge launched a solo home run in the fifth to account for the two runs on Gordon's line. This was his first big-league win and just his second quality start in nine outings since he made his debut last season. Gordon has allowed six runs over 12.1 innings with a 9:3 K:BB in the majors this year. If he stays in the Rockies' rotation, he is tentatively lined up to face the Cubs on the road next week, but it's risky to expect a repeat performance of Friday's outing.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Starting Friday

The Rockies are expected to recall Gordon from Triple-A Albuquerque to start Friday's game against the Yankees, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports. Gordon will be taking the place of Chase Dollander (forearm), who landed on the 15-day injured list Thursday. The 27-year-old Gordon gave up four earned runs in 6.1 innings during his season debut against the Tigers earlier this month, and he hasn't had much success in Triple-A either, logging a 6.23 ERA and 1.72 WHIP across 39 frames. Given his recent body of work and an upcoming matchup against one of the most formidable offenses in the majors, fantasy managers are safe to keep Gordon off their radar.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Returned to Triple-A

Gordon was returned to Triple-A Albuquerque following Colorado's doubleheader against the Tigers on Thursday. Gordon started the second game of the doubleheader and was knocked around for seven runs (four earned) on nine hits and a walk across 6.1 innings. While he took the loss, he did manage to give the Rockies some length to avoid overtaxing the bullpen. The outing was Gordon's ninth overall start in the majors, and there's a strong chance he's back in Colorado at some point later in the summer.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Slated to start Thursday

Rockies manager Bud Black said that Gordon will be called up form Triple-A Albquerque to start the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against the Tigers, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports. After the Rockies' series opener with the Tigers on Tuesday was postponed due to inclement weather, the two teams will wrap up the three-game set with a doubleheader Thursday. Kyle Freeland will get the ball for the first game of the day, while Gordon will presumably be designated as the 27th man for the twin bill and will take the hill for the nightcap. Gordon made eight starts for the Rockies in 2024, going 0-6 while posting an 8.65 ERA and 1.72 WHIP over 34.1 innings. He's enjoyed more success across his six starts at Triple-A this season with a 4.82 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 22:6 K:BB across 28 innings.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Moved back to Triple-A

The Rockies optioned Gordon to Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday. Gordon was called up to make a spot start Wednesday and yielded seven runs in 3.1 innings against the Tigers. He'll return to Albuquerque on Friday, giving way to Austin Gomber (paternity list) on the 26-man roster. Gordon has an 8.65 ERA in 34.1 innings for the Rockies this season.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Starting Wednesday's game

Gordon will start for the Rockies on Wednesday in Detroit, MLB.com reports. Gordon will be making a spot start in place of Austin Gomber (personal), who was placed on the paternity list Tuesday. The right-hander holds a 7.55 ERA and 25:6 K:BB over 31 innings covering seven starts with the big club in 2024 but is coming off his best start of the season with Triple-A Albuquerque, having tossed eight shutout frames last Wednesday in Tacoma.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Recalled from Triple-A

The Rockies recalled Gordon from Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday. Gordon has posted a 7.55 ERA over seven starts with the big club this season. The 26-year-old looks to be in line to serve in a long-relief role this time around.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Sent to Triple-A

The Rockies optioned Gordon to Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday. The right-hander made his seventh start of the season Wednesday against the Nationals and surrendered five runs across eight innings, and he won't stick in the big-league rotation. Gordon has a 7.55 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 25:6 K:BB across 31 frames in his first taste of the majors this season.

  • Rockies' Tanner Gordon: Remains winless

Gordon (0-5) took the loss Wednesday, coughing up five runs on eight hits and a walk over four innings as the Rockies were downed 6-1 to the Nationals. He struck out two. The rookie right-hander fell apart in the third inning, giving up three singles before Luis Garcia launched a three-run blast to right-center field. Gordon has been tagged for at least four runs in five of his first seven MLB starts, and he seems likely to lose his rotation spot once Ryan Feltner (shoulder) is ready to return. If Gordon does get another turn, he'll carry a 7.55 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 25:6 K:BB through 31 innings into a home start early next week against the Marlins.
