  • Guardians' Nic Enright: Holds on for first save Monday

Enright earned the save in Monday's 7-6 extra-inning win over the Mets, allowing one unearned run on one hit and no walks with no strikeouts in the 10th inning. It was the first save of the season for Enright, who hasn't conceded an earned run over his last six outings. Although the Guardians are without closer Emmanuel Clase while he's on non-disciplinary paid leave, Cade Smith, who worked the ninth inning Monday, remains the favorite for saves out of Cleveland's bullpen. That said, Enright does have a strong 2.01 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 20:9 K:BB over 22.1 innings.

  • Guardians' Nic Enright: Joining Guardians

Cleveland recalled Enright from Triple-A Columbus on Friday. Paul Sewald (shoulder) was placed on the IL during the All-Star break, opening up a spot for Enright on the active roster. In 12 appearances for the Guardians this season, Enright has a 1.88 ERA and a 14:7 K:BB across 14.1 innings.

  • Guardians' Nic Enright: Sent back to Triple-A

The Guardians optioned Enright to Triple-A Columbus on Saturday. Cleveland summoned Enright from Triple-A to serve as the 27th man for Friday's doubleheader with the White Sox, but his stay with the big club lasted just one day. He appeared out of the bullpen in the second game of the twin bill, striking out three over 1.1 scoreless frames in the Guardians' 5-4 win in 11 innings.

  • Guardians' Nic Enright: Up for doubleheader

Enright will serve as the Guardians' 27th player for Friday's doubleheader against the White Sox, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports. Enright will provide a fresh arm for Cleveland's bullpen, marking his second MLB stint of the season. In 11 appearances with the Guardians this season, the righty owns a 2.08 ERA and an 11:7 K:BB across 13 innings. He'll likely head back to Triple-A Columbus after Friday's nightcap.

  • Guardians' Nic Enright: Heading back to minors

The Guardians optioned Enright to Triple-A Columbus on Thursday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports. Enright pitched in relief both of the previous two days, so he's being sent out in favor of a fresh bullpen arm. Right-hander Zak Kent was recalled from Triple-A to absorb Enright's spot on the 26-man active roster.

  • Guardians' Nic Enright: Returned to Triple-A

The Guardians optioned Enright back to Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday. Enright made his MLB debut Monday and appeared in a pair of contests during his first big-league stint, allowing three runs on four hits and a walk with four strikeouts over three innings. However, he'll head back to Columbus, yielding his spot on the active roster to Andrew Walters.

  • Guardians' Nic Enright: Big-league debut awaits

The Guardians recalled Enright from Triple-A Columbus on Saturday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports. Cleveland placed Hunter Gaddis (personal) on the bereavement list in a corresponding move, opening up a spot in the bullpen for Enright. The 28-year-old righty turned in a 2.00 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 7:7 K:BB across nine innings at Triple-A this season.

  • Guardians' Nic Enright: Debuts for Triple-A club

Enright (lat) issued three walks over a scoreless inning of relief Sunday for Triple-A Columbus after being activated from the 7-day injured list Friday. Enright struggled to find the strike zone in his 2025 debut, but he was able to get himself out of a jam after loading the bases in the sixth inning. The right-hander had opened the season on Columbus' IL after he sustained a low-grade right lat strain prior to reporting to spring training. He possesses a spot on the Guardians' 40-man roster but is unlikely to be in the mix for a call-up anytime soon.

  • Guardians' Nic Enright: Starting 2025 in Triple-A

The Guardians optioned Enright (lat) to Triple-A Columbus on Saturday. Enright suffered a low-grade lat strain mid-February, but he has recently progressed to mound work. He'll begin the 2025 campaign in Triple-A, but he could make his major-league debut later in the season should the Guardians be in need of right-handed depth out of the bullpen. Enright appeared in 16 games for Columbus in 2024 and posted a 2-1 record with a 1.06 ERA, 0.82 WHIP, 31:5 K:BB and three saves across 17 innings.

  • Guardians' Nic Enright: Begins mound work

Enright (lat) threw a bullpen session Saturday. Enright was diagnosed with a low-grade lat strain in February, and Saturday marks his first time throwing off a mound since then. He still likely won't be ready to pitch in games until April, at which point he will presumably report to Triple-A Columbus.

  • Guardians' Nic Enright: Dealing with strained lat

Enright is dealing with a low-grade right lat strain and is not expected to be game-ready until April. It's not clear when Enright was diagnosed with the injury, but he is expected to resume a throwing program next week. Added to the 40-man roster over the offseason, Enright missed much of last season due to injury but was excellent when healthy, posting a 1.06 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 31:5 K:BB over 17 innings with Triple-A Columbus.

  • Marlins' Nic Enright: Activated, dropped from 40-man

The Marlins reinstated Enright (illness) from the 60-day injured list and designated him for assignment Monday. After being diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma last December, Enright opened the season on the injured list, even though he was cleared to resume workouts during spring training. He was later transferred to the 60-day IL before he began an extended rehab assignment April 29. Between stops at Single-A Jupiter and Triple-A Jacksonville, the 26-year-old pitched to a 3.94 ERA and 1.06 WHIP while striking out 18 in 16 innings. With his 30-day rehab window coming to a close and the Marlins not having room for him in the big-league bullpen, Enright will now be exposed to waivers. Since the Marlins selected him in the Rule 5 Draft over the winter, Enright will have to be offered back to the Guardians if he clears waivers.

  • Marlins' Nic Enright: Scheduled for four innings Saturday

Enright (illness) is scheduled to pitch four innings for Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports. Enright continues to close in on making his season debut after being diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in December. The right-hander is currently on the 60-day injured list, but he could make his big-league debut by the end of May.

  • Marlins' Nic Enright: Tosses two scoreless frames

Enright (illness) struck out two over two scoreless innings Sunday in a rehab start at Triple-A Jacksonville. Enright was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma last December and continues to take steps forward in his recovery. He looked sharp in his latest rehab stint and could be closing in on a return from the 60-day injured list, though nothing is set in stone at this time.

  • Marlins' Nic Enright: Shifts to 60-day IL

The Marlins transferred Enright (illness) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports. According to McPherson, Enright was recently able to throw a pair of live batting practice sessions, but the Marlins won't rush him back into game action at the big-league level after he was diagnosed in December with Hodgkin lymphoma. A Rule 5 pick over the winter, Enright wasn't likely to garner a major role out of the Miami bullpen in 2023 even before his diagnosis, so expect the right-hander to remain on a minor-league rehab assignment for close to the maximum length of 30 days whenever he's deemed ready to pitch in games.

  • Marlins' Nic Enright: Set for bullpen session Sunday

Enright (illness) will throw a bullpen session before Sunday's Grapefruit League game against the Nationals, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports. After being diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin lymphoma in December, Enright wasn't available to pitch in a game this spring, but the 26-year-old is steadily building back up. According to De Nicola, Marlins general manager Kim Ng said Sunday that Enright will soon face live hitters. Once that happens, Enright could head out on a minor-league rehab assignment soon after. The Marlins selected Enright in the 2022 Rule 5 Draft and will have to keep him on the active roster or stash him on the injured list all season to retain his rights.

  • Marlins' Nic Enright: Throws first bullpen session

Enright (lymphoma) threw a bullpen session Wednesday for the first time this spring, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports. Enright announced last month on his personal Instagram page that he was diagnosed with nodular predominant Stage 2 Hodgkin lymphoma Dec. 23. He's been taking things slowly so far in Marlins camp but has expressed a strong desire to pitch competitively at some point in 2023. The 26-year-old right-hander was selected away from the Guardians in the 2022 Rule 5 Draft back on Dec. 7.

  • Marlins' Nic Enright: Heading to Miami

Enright was selected by the Marlins during the Rule 5 draft Wednesday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports. Enright split the 2022 campaign between Double-A and Triple-A with the Guardians and posted a 2.88 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 87:14 K:BB in 65.2 innings across the two levels. The 25-year-old is now set to receive a look in Miami's big-league bullpen.
