The Brewers have recalled shortstop Jeff Bianchi, a newspaper in Lancaster, Pennsylvania (near Bianchi's home town of Lampetr, PA) is reporting. Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel also reports the news appeared on Bianchi's family Facebook page.
Utility infielder Taylor Green was demoted following Sunday's final first-half action, leaving the Brewers with an open roster spot and a need for backup infielders. Bianchi hit .351/.398/.403 for Double-A Hunstville in 19 games before earning a promotion to Triple-A Nashville, where he compiled a .305/.360/.368 line in 174 at-bats.
