Padres pitchers Tim Stauffer and Dustin Moseley have chosen to become free agents after clearing waivers.
San Diego Padres pitchers Tim Stauffer and Dustin Moseley have chosen to become free agents after clearing waivers, according to U-T San Diego.
Both pitchers had been on the 60-day disabled list after making just one start apiece this season.
Stauffer had surgery in August to repair the flexor tendon in his pitching elbow. He was 23-31 in 96 games (70 starts) with a 3.94 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 304 strikeouts in 441 innings during his tenure with the Padres.
Moseley had surgery in April to repair a torn labrum and capsule in his pitching shoulder. In seven seasons with three different teams (Angels, Yankees, Padres), he's 15-21 in 101 games (53 starts) with 4.67 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 199 strikeouts in 358 1/3 innings.
