Three notes on Nationals pitchers, either injured or injury-free:
- The Nationals have placed Chien-Ming Wang on the 15-day disabled list with a right hip strain, the club announced through its official Twitter account.
- Henry Rodriguez has been activated as the corresponding roster move. Rodriguez last pitched on June 6th after suffering a finger injury. He lost the closer's job due to wildness but could have a future in the role thanks to a fastball that routinely tickles triple digits.
- Drew Storen, the Nationals' presumed Opening Day closer, is set to begin a rehab assignment Thursday according to Amanda Comak of the Washington Times. Storen will likely return to the majors in a setup role initially, allowing Tyler Clippard to remain the Nationals' closer.
