MacDermid (upper body) won't play in Monday's preseason matchup against Montreal, per Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Citizen.
MacDermid sustained the injury during training camp, and it's unclear when he will be cleared to return. He suited up in only 19 games for Ottawa in the 2025-26 regular season, producing one assist, four shots on net, 18 hits and 33 PIM.
