Carrick is being evaluated for a mid-body injury, according to Heather Engel of NHL.com on Tuesday.
Carrick has suited up in only two of Buffalo's last seven games, though his previous absences aren't believed to be injury-related. He hasn't earned a point in four appearances this season, but he has contributed one shot on net and nine hits.
