Markstrom will protect the home net in Sunday's preseason matchup against Carolina, Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site reports.
Markstrom posted a 23-19-1 record with one shutout, a 3.07 GAA and an .883 save percentage in 44 regular-season appearances with New Jersey in 2025-26. After being acquired by Florida on June 30, the 36-year-old netminder has plenty of bounce-back potential as the Panthers' projected No. 1 option for the 2026-27 campaign.
