Tomkins was recalled from AHL Bakersfield on Friday.
Tomkins will replace Devon Levi (undisclosed), who went on injured reserve in a corresponding move. Expect Tomkins to serve as Tristan Jarry's backup in the near term, beginning with Saturday's game versus the Maple Leafs.
