Regula (undisclosed) is expected to skate during training camp but won't participate in any preseason games, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton reports Wednesday.
Regula's chances of making Edmonton's Opening Night roster will take a hit due to his absence from the preseason. However, it's unclear if he will be healthy enough to play when the regular season begins. Even if Regula does make the team, he may serve as a healthy scratch more often than not.
