Avon scored twice in AHL Coachella Valley's 3-2 win over San Diego on Wednesday.
Avon's pair of goals came in the last two minutes of the game to flip the script on the Gulls. For the season, the 23-year-old center has eight points over seven appearances. Entering 2026-27, he logged a total of 26 goals and 33 assists over his first 170 AHL regular-season games, which makes it a little unlikely his hot start will hold up all year.
