Protas scored his first goal of the season on three shots while adding one hit and a plus-2 rating during Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Flyers.
The second-period tally stood up as the game-winner, as Protas deflected home a shot from Matt Roy that was drifting wide of Joseph Woll. Protas has just three points in 11 games as he struggles to get going this season, a disappointing start after he racked up 55 goals and 118 points in 152 regular-season contests over the prior two campaigns.
