Newhook scored twice Saturday in a 4-2 win over Toronto.
Both goals came in the first period, giving the Habs a 2-0 lead. Newhook is a first-round pick (2019) who has never really stepped into his draft predigree, but he does have a Stanley Cup ring (Colorado, 2021). He has nine points (five goals, four assists) in 17 games this season (17 shots), but four of those goals and one helper have come in his last five games. That's a significant feat for a fourth-line player.
