Christian Kirk WR | HOU
Texans' Christian Kirk: No return to practice
Kirk (hamstring) isn't practicing Wednesday, DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN.com reports.
A mid-week addition to the Week 7 injury report, Kirk was ruled out Saturday for Monday's eventual loss to Seattle (in which No. 1 receiver Nico Collins suffered a concussion). Houston may now be without both Kirk and Collins this Sunday against the 49ers, which would leave more routes/targets for some combination of Xavier Hutchinson, Jayden Higgins, Jaylin Noel and Braxton Berrios.

Nico Collins WR | HOU
Texans' Nico Collins: Not practicing Wednesday
Collins (concussion) isn't practicing Wednesday, DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN.com reports.
This was to be expected just two days after Collins suffered a concussion during Monday Night Football. He's now on a short week, with not much time to clear concussion protocol before Sunday's matchup with San Francisco.

Mike Evans WR | TB
Buccaneers' Mike Evans: Could return in under eight weeks
Evans is scheduled to undergo surgery this week to address a broken collarbone, for which he faces a recovery timetable of eight weeks or less, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Evans suffered a clean break to his collarbone during the second quarter of Monday's 24-9 loss to the Lions, and head coach Todd Bowles said Wednesday that the star wideout will be "touch and go" to retake the field prior to the end of the regular season, per Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site. It sounds, at least, as though the team is confident Evans will be able to contribute in the postseason if Tampa Bay earns a playoff berth. In the meantime, Chris Godwin (fibula) has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup against the Saints, but he could be a candidate to return to action after the Buccaneers' bye in Week 9.

Chris Godwin WR | TB
Buccaneers' Chris Godwin: Not a candidate to play Week 8
Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said Wednesday that Godwin (lower leg) will not be available Sunday on the road against New Orleans, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.
Bowles said Godwin, who will not practice Wednesday, remains "week-to-week" and that the team has no concerns about his fibula injury potentially being season-ending, per Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site. The same can't be said for Mike Evans, however, who Bowles said will be "touch and go" to return by the end of the regular season due to a broken collarbone suffered during Monday's loss to the Lions, per Smith. Tampa Bay will go on bye Week 9, meaning Godwin's next chance to take the field will arrive Sunday, Nov. 9 versus the Patriots in Week 10. Until Godwin retakes the field, Sterling Shepard, Tez Johnson, Ryan Miller and Kameron Johnson will handle expanded roles at wide receiver behind rookie Emeka Egbuka.

Jared Wayne WR | HOU
Texans' Jared Wayne: Joins active roster
The Texans signed Wayne from their practice squad Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
The 25-year-old from Pittsburgh adds much-needed depth to the Texans' receiving corps, as Nico Collins (concussion) and Christian Kirk (hamstring) are both dealing with injuries. Wayne appeared in three games with the Texans in 2024, failing to record an offensive stat over 64 total snaps (40 on offense, 24 on special teams). Now back with the active roster, he's likely to contribute on both offense and special teams in Houston's Week 8 matchup against the 49ers.

Curtis Samuel WR | BUF
Bills' Curtis Samuel: Logs limited session Wednesday
Samuel (ribs) will be a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site reports.
The Ohio State product was inactive for Buffalo's Week 6 loss to the Falcons due to a neck injury, but following the Week 7 bye, he's returned to limited action, now with a listed rib issue. Samuel has played a depth role in the Bills' wide-receiver corps this season, catching three of four targets for 35 yards and a touchdown while also logging 166 kick-return yards over just two contests. He'll likely carry an injury designation into Sunday's matchup against the Panthers if he's unable to upgrade to full practice either Thursday or Friday.
-
Garrett Wilson WR | NYJ
Jets' Garrett Wilson: Viewed as day-to-day
Wilson (knee) is considered day-to-day ahead of Sunday's game against the Bengals, Eric Allen of the Jets' official site reports.
Wilson, who approached Week 7 action with a doubtful designation, was predictably inactive for the Jets' loss to the Panthers, but as the wideout distances himself from the hyperextended knee he sustained in Week 6, it's possible he could rejoin the mix this weekend. A return to practice in the coming days, in any capacity, would support that notion after Wilson logged three straight DNPs last week.
-
Josh Palmer WR | BUF
Bills' Joshua Palmer: Won't practice Wednesday
Bills coach Sean McDermott said Palmer (knee, ankle) will not practice Wednesday, Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site reports.
Palmer's absence from practice is no surprise, given that he's been labeled week-to-week after suffering an ankle injury that forced him out of Buffalo's loss to the Falcons in Week 6 early. The veteran wideout has a chance to suit up Sunday against the Panthers if he's able to resume practicing on at least a limited basis Thursday and/or Friday.

Deebo Samuel WR | WAS
Commanders' Deebo Samuel: Trending in right direction
Commanders coach Dan Quinn said Wednesday that Samuel (heel) is "trending right" for Monday's game against the Chiefs, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Quinn said that Samuel and Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) are both expected to practice throughout Week 8 as Monday's road matchup at Kansas City approaches. Washington's first official practice report will be released Thursday, at which point Samuel is on track to be listed as at least a limited participant. He wasn't able to suit up Week 7 versus the Cowboys despite having played through his heel injury the prior two games. Meanwhile, the status of quarterback Jayden Daniels (hamstring) remains uncertain, meaning Marcus Mariota could step into the starting lineup versus the Chiefs.

Chris Godwin WR | TB
Buccaneers' Chris Godwin: Absent from practice Wednesday
Godwin (lower leg) is not participating in Wednesday's practice, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Godwin hasn't practiced since suffering a fibula injury Week 5 against the Buccaneers, and he's since missed back-to-back games. With the Buccaneers set to go on bye Week 9, the team could take a cautious approach to Godwin's health and hold him out again during Sunday's road matchup against the Saints. With Mike Evans (collarbone) expected to miss most of the season due to a broken collarbone suffered during Monday's 24-9 loss to the Lions, Godwin's long-term health has become an increasingly crucial factor for Tampa Bay.
