Sermon was released by the Steelers on Tuesday, Teresa Varley of the team's official website reports.

Sermon signed with the Steelers on May 11, and despite a relatively active preseason, the 26-year-old running back was unable to secure a spot on Pittsburgh's 53-man roster behind Jaylen Warren and rookie Kaleb Johnson. The Ohio State product will now look to latch on with another team for the 2025 season.
