Fitzgerald is in line to start the 2025 regular season as the Panthers' kicker, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.

Fitzgerald was in a battle with Matthew Wright for the title of place kicker in Carolina, and after Wright was released Monday, the job now belongs to Fitzgerald. Over his last two seasons at Florida State, he made 32 of 34 field-goal tries and all of his 72 extra-point attempts.
