Pineiro (groin) is not expected to play in Friday's game at the Giants, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official website reports.
Pineiro's absence will mark his second straight exhibition game missed while he continues to nurse a groin injury. In his absence, Matthew Wright is expected to handle kicking duties. The 27-year-old will have only one more chance to suit up in the preseason.
