The 49ers signed Wright to their practice squad Monday, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
With rookie third-rounder Jake Moody (quadriceps) currently questionable for Sunday's game at Pittsburgh, San Francisco could call on Wright to serve as its starting kicker in Week 1. In the meantime, he'll keep his leg warm on the practice squad.
