The Commanders signed Cager to the practice squad Wednesday, Zach Selby of the team's official site reports.

Cager wasn't able to make the Commanders' 53-man roster, but he'll stay in the organization to provide tight end depth behind Zach Ertz, John Bates, Ben Sinnott and Colson Yankoff. Cager logged four catches (on six targets) for 54 yards across three preseason games.
