New Orleans waived Austin on Monday.
Austin suited up for exactly eight games of each of the past two seasons and compiled 24 catches for 291 yards and one touchdown over that span. He initially made the Saints' 53-man roster but was then cut Monday to make room for players awarded to the team on waivers. Austin is a prime candidate to serve on New Orleans' practice squad if he clears waivers.
