The Panthers signed Plummer to their practice squad Wednesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Plummer appeared in all three of Carolina's preseason contests this year, throwing for 406 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. Now that the Louisville product has returned to the Panthers, he could very well serve as the team's emergency third quarterback in his rookie season.
