Hammond was cut by the Chiefs on Saturday but was signed to the team's practice squad Sunday, the Kansas City Star reports.
Hammond was considered a longshot to earn a roster spot, so it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that he didn't make it. However, he could still earn a promotion to suit up on Sundays should other wide receivers suffer an injury.
