Square was released by the Browns on Thursday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
After joining the Browns early in May, Square was slated to compete for a roster spot following his six-year stint with the Chargers. Last season in L.A., the former Alabama defensive tackle notched 20 tackles (nine solo) and a sack. The 32-year-old will now look to catch on with another team before the end of the preseason.
