Smith was waived Tuesday, Randy Lange and Eric Allen of the Jets' official site report.
Smith's strong preseason play wasn't enough for him to secure a spot on the Jets' 53-man roster. The 26-year-old wideout appeared in one regular-season game for the Jets in 2024 and is a candidate to land on the practice squad if he doesn't garner interest on waivers.
