Powell formally re-signed with the Mavericks on Friday, Marc Stein of The Stein Line reports.
The 35-year-old is joining Dallas for training camp, and Stein adds that the team has not ruled out creating a spot for Powell on the regular-season roster despite currently carrying the maximum 15 standard contracts. Powell appeared in 63 games (12 starts) last regular season, averaging 3.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists.
