Sims was waived Thursday by the Jazz, Jody Genessy of Deseret News reports.
Sims saw limited action throughout the preseason, playing in just three games and averaging 2.0 points and 1.3 rebounds over 6.3 minutes. He'll have a chance to latch on with another team before the regular season begins, but it's more likely that Sims will end up in the D-League or overseas.
