Imanaga (8-4) earned the win against the Brewers on Wednesday, allowing three runs on five hits and no walks with eight strikeouts over five innings.

Imanaga was tagged for two homers by William Contreras but was otherwise sharp, throwing 65 of 89 pitches for strikes with 13 whiffs. It was a solid bounce-back after he gave up seven runs to the White Sox on Friday, though Imanaga will finish July having allowed nine homers over six starts. The southpaw carries a 3.25 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 63:17 K:BB across 83 innings into a home matchup with the Reds early next week.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that Sheehan "might be" available to work in relief behind right-hander Shohei Ohtani in Wednesday's game against the Reds, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

For the first time since Ohtani made his 2025 debut as a pitcher June 16, the Dodgers aren't committed to having another hurler piggyback him, but the two-way player will still be limited to four innings in his seventh start of the season while he continues to gradually increase his workload following his second career elbow surgery in September 2023. Sheehan had started in his previous two appearances with the Dodgers, but with Blake Snell (shoulder) likely to return from the 60-day injured list this weekend to give the team six healthy starters, Sheehan looks set to move to the bullpen for the time being. The right-hander will be available on four days' rest and should be capable of covering multiple innings behind Ohtani, if needed.

The Mariners traded Martinez to the Pirates on Wednesday in exchange for Caleb Ferguson, Adam Jude of The Seattle Times reports.

Martinez has struggled this season upon being promoted to Single-A, logging a 6.18 ERA and 1.62 WHIP alongside a 60:38 K:BB through 62.2 innings. That being said, the 19-year-old righty is trending in the right direction after giving up just six earned runs in 23.1 frames over his last five starts, but he clearly still has a lot of work to do before earning a promotion to High-A, let alone the majors.

The Giants acquired Tidwell, outfielder Drew Gilbert and right-hander Jose Butto from the Mets on Wednesday in exchange for right-hander Tyler Rogers, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

Tidwell reached the big leagues for the first time earlier this season and made four appearances (two starts) for the Mets while posting a 9.00 ERA and 2.00 WHIP in 15 innings. With the Mets getting the likes of Kodai Senga, Frankie Montas and Sean Manaea back from the injured list in recent weeks, Tidwell became buried on the organization's depth chart, but he should have a clearer path to contributing at the big-league level with San Francisco. The 24-year-old right-hander is expected to begin his time in his new organization in the rotation at Triple-A Sacramento.

Waldrep threw seven scoreless innings for Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday, allowing five hits and a walk while striking out eight.

There had been speculation the 23-year-old right-hander might get called up this week to bolster Atlanta's injury-ravaged rotation, but Waldrep instead remained at Gwinnett and delivered arguably his best performance of the season. He's given up two runs or fewer in six of his last seven starts, posting a 1.99 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 36:16 K:BB over 40.2 innings during that stretch. With Atlanta out of the playoff picture and expected to be sellers at the trade deadline, the team could still promote Waldrep at some point over the final weeks of the campaign to help him get his feet wet in the majors ahead of competing for a rotation spot next spring.

Roupp (elbow) threw 35 pitches off flat ground Tuesday and is expected to continue pitching at the Giants' complex in Arizona while the team is on its six-game road trip, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Roupp was placed on the 15-day injured list Friday, retroactive to Wednesday, due to right elbow inflammation. The right-hander will continue ramping up and is expected to return shortly after he's first eligible Aug. 6. Roupp may go on a rehab assignment before rejoining the Giants during their next homestand, per Rubin.

Gordon (2-3) took the loss Tuesday against the Guardians, allowing seven runs (six earned) on eight hits and two walks while striking out two in three innings.

Gordon was hit around in this one and had a disappointing outing after he was impressive in a scoreless showing against the Cardinals last week. Gordon allowed three runs through two innings and coughed up another four runs in the third, including a Kyle Manzardo two-run homer and Brayan Rocchio two-run triple. Despite the rough showing, Gordon figures to stick around in the rotation for the short term while German Marquez (biceps) is recovering. Gordon lines up to start at home versus the Blue Jays to begin next week.

Pfaadt (10-7) took the loss Tuesday, coughing up seven runs on 11 hits -- including three home runs -- over 4.2 innings in a 12-2 rout at the hands of the Tigers. He struck out three without walking a batter.

The Diamondbacks held a 2-0 lead through three innings as Pfaadt seemed to be in control, but things unraveled quickly for the right-hander, with all three long balls off him coming in a nightmarish fifth frame. It's the first time since June 5 that Pfaadt has been tagged for more than four runs and the first time since June 10 he's served up multiple homers, ending a sharp seven-start stretch in which he posted a 3.48 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 40:7 K:BB over 41.1 innings. Pfaadt will try to get back on track in his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home early next week against the Padres.

Sasaki (shoulder) is expected to throw at least one more bullpen session before facing living hitters, per MLB.com.

The Dodgers are being careful not to rush Sasaki back, so the rookie right-hander will toss at least one more bullpen after getting up to 39 pitches in his most recent session. Sasaki hasn't pitched in a game since May 9, and he's presumably still several weeks away from being activated. According to Sonja Chen of MLB.com, Sasaki will eventually be slated for 3-to-4 minor-league rehab starts, during which he'll work up to the five-inning, 75-pitch range. The hope is that he'll be ready to return before the end of August.

Bergert allowed one run on two hits and four walks while striking out four over four innings in a no-decision versus the Mets on Tuesday.

Bergert threw 50 of 83 pitches for strikes, with the four walks matching his season high. He's fallen short of the five-inning mark in each of his last four big-league appearances, though a forearm injury abbreviated one of those outings. The right-hander is at a 2.78 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 34:18 K:BB through 35.2 innings over 11 appearances (seven starts) this season. He's at 80.1 innings between San Diego and Triple-A El Paso this year, so he should be able to comfortably pass his career high of 105.2 frames from 2023 as long as he stays healthy. It's unclear if this effort was enough for Bergert to keep a spot in the rotation -- if he gets another turn, it's tentatively slated to be on the road in Arizona next week.
