Peterson did not factor into the decision in Friday's 4-3 extra-inning loss to the Giants, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks with four strikeouts over six innings.

Peterson allowed two runs in the second inning but was otherwise strong, throwing 63 of 97 pitches for strikes and limiting the Giants to just one extra-base hit. The 29-year-old has now delivered five straight quality starts, yielding just five earned runs over 31.2 innings during that stretch. He'll take an impressive 2.83 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 105:43 K:BB across 127 frames into a home matchup with the Guardians next week.

Ray did not factor into the decision in Friday's 4-3 extra-inning win over the Mets, allowing one run on four hits and one walk with six strikeouts over seven innings.

Ray cruised through six scoreless frames before surrendering a solo homer in the seventh, leaving with a 3-1 lead that the Giants' bullpen couldn't hold in the eighth. While the veteran southpaw has just one win in his past 10 outings, he's yielded three earned runs or fewer in nine of them to go along with five quality starts. He'll carry a 2.85 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 140:53 K:BB across 136 innings into a road matchup with the Pirates next week.

Nola (ankle/rib) made his first rehab start with Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday, allowing three hits and one walk in three scoreless innings. He struck out three.

Nola showed little signs of rust in his first game action since mid-May, pounding the zone for 31 strikes over his 47 pitches. The 32-year-old right-hander is recovering from a sprained ankle and a stress fracture in his rib, and he's likely in line to make another rehab appearance or two before the Phillies consider reinstating him from the injured list. Once Nola is ready to rejoin Philadelphia's rotation, Taijuan Walker will likely revert back to a long-relief role.

Suarez did not factor into the decision in Friday's 5-4 win over the Tigers, allowing three runs on four hits and no walks with five strikeouts over seven innings.

Suarez was burned by a three-run homer in the third inning but was otherwise excellent, tossing six scoreless frames and retiring the final 10 batters he faced. The southpaw also didn't issue a walk for the first time since June 1 and has now held opponents to three earned runs or fewer in 14 of 16 outings this season. He'll carry a 2.68 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 95:27 K:BB across 100.2 innings into a home matchup with the Orioles next week.

King (shoulder) will make a rehab start with Triple-A El Paso on Sunday, Annie Heilbrunn of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

King most recently threw a 40-pitch sim game Monday and told reporters after the session that he felt "100 percent" and pain-free, per AJ Cassavell of MLB.com. King is in the final stages of his recovery from a pinched thoracic nerve in his right shoulder, and barring any setbacks, he could be back in the Padres' rotation by mid-August. He went 4-2 across 10 starts with a 2.59 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 64:17 K:BB across 55.2 innings prior to landing on the injured list.

The Pirates recalled Harrington from Triple-A Indianapolis on Friday.

Harrington has surrendered nine earned runs in only eight MLB innings this season, and he carries a 5.48 ERA through 90.1 frames in Triple-A. Despite his performance, he'll be awarded a spot on the Pirates' pitching staff after Pittsburgh traded away David Bednar, Bailey Falter and Taylor Rogers on Thursday.

Horton (5-3) picked up the win in Friday's 1-0 victory over the Orioles, allowing two hits and three walks over five scoreless innings. He struck out three.

A Baltimore lineup that got depleted at the trade deadline was no match for Horton and the Cubs bullpen, with the rookie right-hander generating 24 called or swinging strikes in only 71 pitches (44 total strikes). Horton extended his scoreless streak to 17.2 innings with the performance, and on the season he sports a 3.42 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 53:25 K:BB through 73.2 innings. He'll look to produce more goose eggs in his next start, which is scheduled to come at home next week against the Reds.

The Rockies recalled Palmquist from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday.

With Colorado trading Jake Bird and Tyler Kinley prior to Thursday's deadline, Palmquist will come back up to reinforce the pitching staff. The left-handed Palmquist has worked exclusively as a starter at the big-league level so far in his career, but he has struggled to a 7.63 ERA and 1.73 WHIP, and it's possible he works as more of a swingman this time around.

The Marlins optioned Gusto to Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday.

Miami acquired Gusto from Houston on Thursday, but he won't immediately join the big-league club. The right-hander made 24 appearances (14 starts) with the Astros this year and had a 4.92 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 87:28 K:BB across 86 innings. It's likely only a matter of time before he receives his first look with the Marlins.

Singer (9-8) picked up the win in Friday's 3-2 victory over Atlanta, allowing four hits and a walk over six scoreless innings. He struck out 10.

The right-hander set a new season high in strikeouts as he generated 21 swinging strikes over 97 pitches (66 total strikes). The quality start was Singer's ninth of the year, and while he's given up three runs or fewer in five of six outings since the beginning of July, one rough start against the Nats has left him with a 4.50 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 35:8 K:BB in 30 innings over that stretch. Singer will look to stay sharp in his next trip to the mound, which is scheduled to come on the road next week in Pittsburgh.
