Liam Hicks C | MIA
Marlins' Liam Hicks: Not in Tuesday's lineup
Hicks is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Pirates.
Hicks started the previous four games but will head to the bench Tuesday after going 3-for-14 with a double, two RBI and a run during that stretch. Nick Fortes will step in behind the plate while Agustin Ramirez serves as the designated hitter versus Pittsburgh righty Mitch Keller.

Francisco Alvarez C | NYM
Mets' Francisco Alvarez: Moves to paternity list
The Mets placed Alvarez on the paternity list Tuesday.
The 23-year-old will be away from the team for a few days in order to spend some time with his growing family. Alvarez should be back with the Mets by Friday's series opener versus the Rays. In the meantime, Luis Torrens should serve as New York's primary backstop, while Hayden Senger was promoted Tuesday to fill the backup job.

Bo Naylor C | CLE
Guardians' Bo Naylor: Homers in loss
Naylor went 2-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run and an additional run scored in Monday's 7-4 loss to the Reds.
The home run was Naylor's ninth in 50 games. Naylor, who hit a home run for a second straight game, may be emerging from a slump. He's gone 5-for-7 with three RBI and four runs in those two contests. This mini eruption comes after a stretch in which the catcher had one hit over 26 at-bats.

Alejandro Kirk C | TOR
Blue Jays' Alejandro Kirk: Enjoys big day at plate
Kirk went 4-for-5 with a home run, two doubles and two total RBI in Monday's 5-4, extra-inning win against St. Louis.
Kirk's nine total bases were a season high, and he tied a campaign-best mark with four hits. Among the knocks was an eighth-inning solo homer and a 10th-inning double that plated the winning run. Kirk is slashing a cool .316/.361/.421 on the campaign, and those marks have been buoyed by a hot nine-game stretch during which the backstop is batting .457 (16-for-35) with five extra-base hits, 10 RBI and just three strikeouts.

Will Smith C | LAD
Dodgers' Will Smith: Pops homer Monday
Smith went 1-for-4 with a two-run home and an additional RBI in Monday's 8-7 extra-inning win over the Padres.
Smith did his damage early, supplying a sacrifice fly in the first inning before his homer in the third. The catcher opened June in an 0-for-9 skid, but he's since gone 5-for-17 with three extra-base hits over his last four contests. For the season, he's maintained a .320/.423/.503 slash line with six homers, 36 RBI, 29 runs scored and two stolen bases over 53 games.

Patrick Winkel C | MIN
Twins' Patrick Winkel: Lands on IL
Triple-A St. Paul placed Winkel on its 7-day injured list Monday due to a right wrist tendon injury.
The injury is poor timing for Winkel, who appeared to be heating up at the dish after delivering home runs in both of his previous two appearances. The 25-year-old is slashing .279/.319/.559 over 72 plate appearances on the season for St. Paul.
