  • Dylan Moore 2B | TEX

Mariners' Dylan Moore: Not in Friday's lineup

Moore is not in the Mariners' starting lineup against the Twins on Friday.

Moore will begin the Mariners' weekend series on the bench while Miles Mastrobuoni starts at second base and bats eighth. Moore has slashed .241/.297/.397 with three steals, two home runs and seven RBI over 64 plate appearances since returning from the 10-day injured list in early May.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | TB

Rays' Brandon Lowe: Not starting Friday

Lowe is not in the Rays' starting lineup against the Astros on Friday.

Lowe will begin Friday's contest on the bench while Curtis Mead starts at second base and bats seventh. Lowe is in the midst of a 12-game hitting streak and has gone 16-for-43 (.372) with one steal, 12 runs scored, four home runs and six RBI in that span.

  • Royals' Michael Massey: In lineup at DH

Massey (ankle) is starting at designated hitter and batting eighth Friday against the Tigers.

Massey was scratched from Wednesday's lineup due to left ankle soreness but is able to give it a go as the DH for the first game of this weekend's home series against Detroit. He is hitting .250 with zero home runs and one steal over his last 10 games.

  • Red Sox's Kristian Campbell: Falls in batting order

Campbell is batting eighth Friday against Atlanta.

Campbell is expected to get one start at first base during this weekend's series, but he's starting at second base in this one. He is hitting .114 with one home run and zero steals in his last 22 games and this is the third time this season he's hit lower than seventh and the first time since May 23 he's hit eighth.

  • Thairo Estrada 2B | COL

Rockies' Thairo Estrada: Ready for 2025 MLB debut

The Rockies reinstated Estrada (wrist) from the 60-day injured list Friday.

The veteran infielder was sidelined by a fractured wrist late in spring training, but he's ready to make his Rockies debut after going 7-for-23 with a double during a five-game rehab assignment. Estrada should take over as Colorado's primary second baseman after signing a one-year, $3.25 million contract during the offseason.

  • Ronny Simon RF | PIT

Marlins' Ronny Simon: DFA'd by Miami

The Marlins designated Simon for assignment Friday.

Simon is losing his spot on the 26-man and 40-man rosters after a three-error game earlier this week. The 25-year-old also never got on track offensively while up with the Marlins with a .234/.327/.277 slash line in 56 plate appearances.

  • Ronny Simon RF | PIT

Marlins' Ronny Simon: Set to lose roster spot

Simon is expected to be designated for assignment by the Marlins on Friday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.

The 25-year-old had a three-error game earlier this week and will lose his place on Miami's 26-man and 40-man rosters after posting a .604 OPS in 19 games. Simon will likely return to Triple-A Jacksonville if he clears waivers, where he had a .962 OPS in 15 games to begin the season.

  • Adael Amador SS | COL

    Rockies' Adael Amador: Demoted Thursday

The Rockies optioned Amador to Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday.

The 22-year-old is one of the organization's top prospects but struggled in his first extended look at the big leagues this season with a .146/.240/.225 slash line over 102 plate appearances. Amador has just 10 games under his belt at the Triple-A level, so an extended stay at Albuquerque could be in order.

  • Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Extends hit streak

Albies went 2-for-8 with a home run, three RBI and a second run scored across both games of Thursday's doubleheader with the Phillies.

After extending his hit streak to 13 games in the opening game, Albies launched his first home run since May 3 in the nightcap, a two-run blast off Zack Wheeler in the fourth inning that extended Atlanta's lead to 4-0. Albies is 18-for-52 (.346) during the streak, as he looks to have bounced back from a slow start this year. The second baseman is slashing .241/.307/.361 with six homers, 22 RBI, 29 runs scored and five steals across 238 plate appearances this season.

  • Jazz Chisholm CF | NYY

Yankees' Jazz Chisholm: Could return this weekend

Chisholm (oblique) said after his appearance in Thursday's game with Double-A Somerset that he expects to play only one or two more contests with the minor-league club, Max Goodman of NJ.com reports.

Chisholm looked great in the first game of his rehab stint, going 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and two runs while starting at third base. He mentioned after the contest that Yankees manager Aaron Boone "really wanted me at 3B," so it appears that Chisholm will move to the hot corner upon rejoining the Yankees after making all 28 of his appearances this season at second base prior to getting hurt. If Chisholm is indeed activated from the IL after one or two more rehab games, he could be back in the Yankees' lineup for one or two contests during this weekend's series versus the Dodgers.
