Arizona designated McGough for assignment Thursday after he posted a 6.43 ERA and 1.71 WHIP across seven innings out of the big-league bullpen. After passing through waivers unclaimed, the 35-year-old reliever will now attempt to latch on with another organization, likely on a minor-league deal.
